In a shocking revelation, racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. has delivered a scathing assessment of Chase Elliott’s performance in the 2025 Cup Series season. Despite being a former Cup champion, Elliott has been struggling to make a significant impact this season, unlike his teammates Kyle Larson and William Byron, who have already secured multiple wins.

Earnhardt Jr., in a recent episode of his podcast, did not hold back in expressing his disappointment with Elliott’s recent performance, especially after the driver missed out on a top 10 finish in the most recent race. The NASCAR Hall of Famer highlighted that Elliott and his team are facing mixed feelings about their season so far, with the most recent outing being a huge letdown for the No. 9 Chevy team.

The racing icon pointed out how track position played a crucial role in hindering Elliott’s progress in the race, but also acknowledged signs of improvement and solid runs from the driver. Despite the setbacks, Earnhardt Jr. believes that the team is on the right path towards chasing another Cup championship.

Reflecting on Elliott’s past struggles, including a snowboarding accident in 2023 that led to him missing races due to a tibia injury, Earnhardt Jr. emphasized the challenges the No. 9 team had to overcome to regain their momentum and competitiveness in the elite NASCAR division. The incident disrupted their rhythm and consistency, making it a long road back to their winning ways.

As fans eagerly await Elliott’s next victory in the 2025 season, the pressure is mounting on the star driver to deliver results and showcase his true potential on the track. With Earnhardt Jr.’s critical assessment serving as a wake-up call, all eyes will be on Elliott as he strives to turn his season around and reclaim his winning form in the competitive world of NASCAR.
