VIDEO – Red Bull’s Tsunoda Crashes! McLaren Dominates in Dramatic F1 Saudi GP Practice Shocker

Yuki Tsunoda’s Dramatic Crash at F1 Saudi Arabian GP Practice Session

Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda took full responsibility for his dramatic crash during the second practice session of the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, bringing his run to an abrupt halt.

Tsunoda was in the midst of a race simulation at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit when he lost control and collided with the barriers at the final corner. Despite emerging from the incident unscathed, Tsunoda acknowledged his mistake over the team radio, apologizing for the unexpected repair work his Red Bull team now faced.

“Just turning too much and clipped the inside wall and just had damage,” Tsunoda explained. “After that, just no control. Apologies to the team, things were looking good, so it’s a shame.”

Prior to the crash, Tsunoda had shown promising pace, even expressing confidence that he could rival his teammate Max Verstappen once fully acclimated to the team’s RB21.

Although Tsunoda was sitting in a respectable sixth place on the timesheets, just four tenths behind Verstappen in third, he lamented the missed opportunity caused by his own error.

“The qualifying lap was pretty good. I was a bit compromised with the [tyre] warm-up, but so far pretty okay,” Tsunoda reflected. “I had a limited time on the long run which I caused by myself, so I can’t really complain. It’s definitely not how I wanted to end up, that’s for sure.”

Despite the setback, Tsunoda remains optimistic about his performance, noting that there is room for improvement in the upcoming sessions.

As the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix continues, all eyes will be on Tsunoda to see if he can bounce back from this practice session mishap and make a strong comeback on the track.
