Lando Norris, the current leader of the Drivers’ Championship, has dropped a bombshell regarding his driving experience with the 2025 McLaren car at the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Despite holding a three-point lead over teammate Oscar Piastri and an eight-point lead over Max Verstappen from Red Bull, Norris expressed his dissatisfaction with the car’s performance.

Following a challenging race in Bahrain where he finished third, Norris admitted that he is not reaching his full potential this season compared to last year. The British driver confessed that he is being compelled to adopt a different driving style, stating, “I’m being forced to drive in a different way and a different manner that I’m not used to and that is not normal for me at all.”

Norris emphasized the need to make adjustments and learn new approaches to enhance his performance on the track. Despite the struggles he is facing, Norris remains optimistic and trusts the team’s efforts to maximize the car’s capabilities. He acknowledged the changes in the car’s behavior, which require him to adapt in uncomfortable ways.

The McLaren driver highlighted the contrast between his exceptional performance last season, where he secured eight pole positions, and his current struggles in qualifying sessions this year. Norris expressed frustration at not being able to execute his driving style effectively in qualifying laps, attributing it to his unfamiliarity with the car’s dynamics.

With the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix presenting unique challenges due to its high speeds and narrow margins for error, Norris faces intensified pressure to refine his driving approach. Piastri, coming off a dominant victory in Bahrain, anticipates a tough competition, especially from Verstappen, in the upcoming race weekend.

As Formula 1 gears up for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, fans can expect an electrifying weekend of racing action with intense battles on the track. Stay tuned for updates and live coverage as the drama unfolds in Jeddah.
