In a shocking turn of events, Alpine has made a jaw-dropping 12-month transformation, catapulting Pierre Gasly into a fierce battle against none other than Max Verstappen at the Bahrain Grand Prix in Formula 1.

The Alpine team, which started 2024 languishing at the back of the pack, has undergone a miraculous evolution, propelling them to sixth place in the Constructors’ standings by the end of the season. Fast forward to 2025, and Alpine was expected to lead the midfield, a prediction that was reinforced during pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Despite a lackluster start to the season with three scoreless races, everything changed when Round 4 brought them back to Bahrain. Gasly’s exceptional performance saw him qualify in fifth place, a position further advanced due to a penalty for Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Gasly’s battle with Verstappen during the race was nothing short of thrilling, with the Alpine driver narrowly missing out on sixth place to the Red Bull powerhouse on the final lap. Reflecting on the intense competition, Gasly expressed a mix of frustration and pride, emphasizing the tremendous progress Alpine has achieved as a team.

Comparing this year’s Bahrain Grand Prix to the previous season, where Gasly finished a dismal 18th, showcases the remarkable journey Alpine has undertaken. Gasly acknowledged the team’s dedication and the significant improvements in car performance, highlighting areas for further enhancement.

Following the six points secured in Bahrain, Alpine has risen from the bottom of the Constructors’ standings, setting a solid foundation for future success. Gasly remains optimistic about maintaining this level of performance throughout the season, aiming for consistency in upcoming races.

The Alpine team’s resurgence and Gasly’s newfound competitiveness have set the stage for an electrifying Formula 1 season, with fans eagerly anticipating more exhilarating battles between Gasly and Verstappen on the track.
