Long Beach, California – A rookie racer, Robert Wickens, faced a tumultuous day during his GTD debut at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Wickens, behind the wheel of the No. 36 DXDT Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R, encountered various challenges that took him on a roller-coaster journey on Friday.
The day started off on a rough note as mechanical issues plagued Wickens’ Corvette, causing a lengthy delay during the morning practice session. Despite resolving the problems, Wickens struggled to find his rhythm on the track, feeling like a “nuisance” among other drivers with fully warmed tires.
