McLaren Triumphs in Legal Battle Against Raghunathan: Shocking Court Verdict Revealed

The sensational return of Raghunathan: McLaren wins legal battle against Indian driver for unpaid test

In a jaw-dropping turn of events, McLaren emerges victorious in a legal showdown against the infamous Indian driver, Mahaveer Raghunathan. The once Formula 2 driver, known for his lackluster performances and even managing to lose all his driving license points in just five race weekends, has resurfaced in the motorsport scene with a controversial test session that has now landed him in hot water.

After a forgettable stint in Formula 2 and sporadic appearances in the 2024 Italian GT Endurance Championship, Raghunathan caught the attention of many when he tested with Alfa Romeo in Budapest in 2021, finishing a staggering two seconds behind Theo Pourchaire. However, it was his more recent test with McLaren in July 2023 that has stirred up a legal storm.

Taking to social media to share his excitement, Raghunathan posted about his two-day test with the McLaren MCL35M at Portimao, completing a total of 750 km. The thrill of being back in an F1 car was palpable, but what followed was far from celebratory for the Indian driver.

Despite the opportunity to test with the prestigious McLaren team, Raghunathan failed to fulfill his financial obligations towards the British outfit, leading to McLaren taking legal action against him. The team claimed that the Indian driver had not paid the agreed-upon amount for the test session, prompting a showdown in the International Court of Arbitration in London.

In a dramatic twist, the court ruled in favor of McLaren in February 2025, marking a significant victory for the renowned racing team. The outcome not only sheds light on the financial intricacies of Formula 1 testing but also serves as a cautionary tale for drivers looking to make a name for themselves in the competitive world of motorsport.
