In a shocking turn of events, a retweet by Jos Verstappen has ignited controversy in the ongoing flexi-wing saga between McLaren and Red Bull in the F1 2025 season. As Red Bull struggles to keep up with McLaren’s pace, Jos Verstappen’s retweet of a video showcasing the flexibility of the McLaren and Red Bull rear wings has raised eyebrows across the racing world.

McLaren currently leads in both championships, with Lando Norris narrowly ahead of Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ standings and a significant 36-point lead over Mercedes in the Teams’ standings after three rounds of exhilarating races. The Woking team has shown dominance with two Grand Prix victories, including a remarkable 1-2 finish in China, leaving fans in awe of their performance.

However, questions have emerged regarding the flexibility of McLaren’s rear wing, especially after a report suggested that rear wing flexing might still be an issue in the F1 grid. Red Bull’s technical director, Pierre Waché, highlighted concerns about McLaren’s rear wing, hinting at possible “mini-DRS stuff” being utilized by the team.

The FIA has already implemented stricter regulations on rear wings, aiming to limit flex to 0.5mm under a vertical load-bearing test. Despite these measures, footage from races has fueled speculations about the true extent of rear wing flexibility, prompting Jos Verstappen to retweet a revealing video, hinting at potential rule infringements.

With a looming technical directive set to be introduced at the Spanish Grand Prix, teams are bracing for further scrutiny on front wings as the FIA aims to address controversies surrounding aerodynamic components. Christian Horner, Red Bull’s team principal, emphasized the significance of the upcoming rule changes and the impact they could have on the competitive landscape of F1.

As the championship unfolds, teams are gearing up to adapt to the evolving regulations and maximize their performance on the track. With tensions rising and stakes higher than ever, the F1 2025 season promises to deliver thrilling battles and unexpected twists as teams navigate the intricate world of aerodynamics and regulations.
