Cadillac Shakes Up F1: Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez on the Radar?

Get ready for a seismic shift in the Formula 1 landscape as Cadillac gears up to join the prestigious racing series in 2026. The American powerhouse is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for top-tier talent, with familiar names like Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez reportedly in the crosshairs.

In a bold move that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world, Cadillac is already in talks with a select group of elite drivers, including those with recent Formula 1 experience. While the team remains tight-lipped about the specifics, it’s clear that they are prioritizing merit and skill in their driver selection process.

Despite entering the driver market relatively late, Cadillac is in a prime position to attract seasoned veterans like Bottas and Pérez. The team’s criteria for selection are stringent, encompassing a mix of experienced winners, young talents, and rising stars from lower racing categories.

American drivers Colton Herta from IndyCar and Jak Crawford from F2 have also piqued Cadillac’s interest, signaling a potential shift towards homegrown talent. While Pérez may be on the initial list of candidates, negotiations are still in the early stages, with no final decisions made.

Acknowledging the challenges of a late confirmation for the 2026 season, Cadillac remains undaunted, with a bevy of eager contenders vying for a coveted spot on the team. Emphasizing the pivotal role of drivers as key team members, Cadillac is not ruling out the possibility of fielding one or more American drivers in the future, all while keeping meritocracy at the forefront of their strategy.
