Pierre Gasly’s Mission in Bahrain to Tame the Chaos at Alpine

With the Bahrain Grand Prix just around the corner, all eyes are on French driver Pierre Gasly as he gears up to lead Alpine into point-scoring territory for the first time this season. The Alpine team is currently in turmoil, being the only team yet to score any points in the Constructors’ standings.

Despite swirling rumors about the possible end of Jack Doohan’s stint with Alpine, especially after his recent crash at Suzuka, the Australian driver is set to participate in the Sakhir weekend. Alongside other rookies of the season, Doohan aims to leverage his experience from pre-season testing in February to make an impact on the track: “We are utilizing the days between races to recharge for this weekend and aiming to arrive fresh. Bahrain is a track I know well from my Formula 2 days,” said Doohan.

As Doohan’s future hangs in the balance, Gasly is determined to break Alpine’s streak of five consecutive point-less races. Reflecting on Suzuka, Gasly emphasized the importance of qualifying in the tight competition where mere tenths of a second separate different cars. Gasly is optimistic about the upcoming Bahrain race, a track known for tire wear, where he hopes to leverage the team’s pre-season testing knowledge for a top-ten finish: “I’m looking forward to returning to Bahrain this weekend, where we had good results during pre-season tests,” Gasly stated.

Gasly’s mission in Bahrain is clear – to quell the chaos at Alpine and secure a strong finish to avoid a repeat of last year’s slow start. With both Gasly and Doohan facing challenges, the Bahrain Grand Prix promises to be a thrilling battleground for Alpine as they strive to make their mark in the Formula 1 season.
