Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin Struggles Revealed: F1 Star Labels Performance a “Miracle” in Japanese Grand Prix

Spanish racing driver Fernando Alonso left the Japanese Grand Prix with a bittersweet feeling after finishing in 11th place and missing out on scoring points with his Aston Martin. Despite moving up from 13th on the grid, Alonso expressed his disbelief at achieving such a result, considering the lack of speed of his car.

Alonso lamented, “Truth is, we’re not fast enough to be in the top ten. And I guess we’re not even fast enough to be in the top eighteen.” The two-time F1 World Champion highlighted the challenges he faced during the race, citing the lack of grip and overall performance of his car.

Acknowledging the struggles of his team, which has only scored 10 points in the previous races, Alonso acknowledged the difficulties they encountered in Japan, emphasizing the lack of straight-line speed as a significant hindrance to his race strategy.

Despite the disappointing outcome, Alonso found solace in his personal performance, stating, “It’s been a totally anonymous race. No one’s going to remember, as I always say sometimes, P11 in Suzuka in 2025, but it’s without a doubt one of my best races personally.”

Reflecting on the nature of the race at Suzuka, which saw minimal position changes and limited overtaking opportunities, Alonso compared the circuit to Monaco, known for its challenging nature and lack of overtaking possibilities. He remained hopeful that future changes in regulations could enhance racing excitement on such tracks.

As Alonso navigates the highs and lows of the F1 season, his determination and resilience shine through, promising fans an exhilarating journey ahead in the world of motorsport.
