Leclerc’s Fierce Struggle: Crushing Disappointment in 4th Place at Japanese GP

Charles Leclerc expresses disappointment with 4th place finish in the Japanese Grand Prix

In a bitter acknowledgment of his fourth-place finish in the Japanese Grand Prix without ever challenging the podium, Charles Leclerc voiced his discontent. The Monegasque driver extracted the maximum performance from his car both in qualifying and during the race at Suzuka, resulting in a third consecutive “wooden medal,” a lackluster fourth place that left Ferrari and their fans desiring more in 2025.

Leclerc’s Mixed Feelings

Following the race, Leclerc highlighted the conflicting emotions he is experiencing, stating, “I am partly happy because the feeling was better, and I have a clear idea of what I want to do in the upcoming races to feel comfortable and achieve better results.” Despite this, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the fourth-place finish, emphasizing the closeness but consistent gap to McLaren and Red Bull.

“The gap can be closed. Regardless of our starting point this year, we must always look ahead and try to make small steps in the right direction. We have to push to the maximum, but I know that the team in Maranello is doing it,” Leclerc added optimistically, looking forward to improvements in performance starting from Bahrain.

With a different perspective heading into the upcoming races, Leclerc is hopeful for better results and a clearer direction for his driving style. The Bahrain Grand Prix holds significant importance as the team aims to understand the car better and make progress in their performance. Leclerc’s determination and the team’s efforts point towards a promising future on the track.
