FIA Slams Alpine for Breaking Curfew at Japanese Grand Prix

In a shocking turn of events at the Japanese Grand Prix, the FIA has confirmed that Alpine has breached the official curfew, making them the second Formula 1 team to do so during the weekend. The Enstone-based team has faced a tumultuous start to the 2025 season, struggling in the midfield and currently sitting at the bottom of the championship with zero points to their name.

Alpine’s troubles continued at the Chinese Grand Prix, where Pierre Gasly was stripped of the team’s first point due to his car being underweight. Additionally, Jack Doohan faced a series of setbacks, including receiving two five-second penalties. The Australian driver’s misfortunes escalated when he crashed into the barriers at a staggering speed of around 185mph during practice at the Japanese GP.

Despite the challenges, Alpine managed to repair Doohan’s car in time for qualifying, where he secured the 19th spot on the grid for the race. However, their late-night repair efforts did not go unnoticed, resulting in an official warning from the FIA. The team members stayed beyond the curfew hours to rebuild the damaged car, prompting the disciplinary action.

While the FIA ruling has been disclosed, stating that Alpine will not face further punishment due to the team being granted exceptions throughout the season, the warning serves as a stark reminder of the regulations in place. Mercedes also received a similar warning for a curfew breach earlier in the weekend, highlighting the strict enforcement by the FIA during the Grand Prix events.

As the drama unfolds on and off the track, the Formula 1 community is left buzzing with anticipation for the next race, wondering if Alpine can turn their luck around and make a comeback in the championship standings. Stay tuned for more updates and developments as the 2025 season progresses.
