Hyundai apresenta nova geração do Nexo um SUV movido a hidrogénio

Hyundai has unveiled the new generation of the Nexo, a hydrogen fuel cell electric SUV (FCEV) that converts hydrogen into electric power.

The new generation of the Nexo was presented at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea, and it is based on the brand’s “Art of Steel” design language, reflecting the inherent strength and natural forms of materials.

The robust and sophisticated design, with bold lines and a solid structure, creates a strong image, while the vehicle’s arched cross-section reinforces its strength.

The horizontal groove patterns on the new Hyundai Nexo’s doors highlight the vehicle’s durability, with the overall design suitable for both urban and outdoor lifestyles.

Notably, the front section includes what Hyundai calls “HTWO” LED lamps, each featuring four distinct points, creating a unique design for the model.

In addition to having revamped the design of the Nexo, the new generation of the hydrogen fuel cell electric SUV comes with significant changes in terms of powertrain, now featuring a 2.64 kWh battery, a hydrogen fuel cell stack with 147 hp, and a single electric motor capable of producing 201 hp. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 7.8 seconds, and the size of the hydrogen tank has increased from 6.33 kg to 6.69 kg.

Hyundai aims to provide the new generation of the Nexo with over 700 km of range with a five-minute charge.

Inside, the Hyundai Nexo offers a spacious environment designed to enhance passenger comfort and convenience, featuring high-quality, soft upholstery with patterns that evoke the warmth and comfort of a home.

Additionally, the NEXO’s “Connected Car Navigation Cockpit” features a curved screen that combines a 12.3’’ instrument panel and a 12.3’’ infotainment display. The system supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates and includes voice recognition with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and it is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Furthermore, the new generation of the Nexo also includes a 12’’ head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with up to 14 speakers.

Hyundai has not yet announced pricing details for the new Nexo, but it has indicated that the model will arrive in global markets by the end of 2025, and it remains to be seen whether it will be available in various European markets.
