Former McLaren F1 Driver Jochen Mass Faces Health Scare: Family Issues Update

In a shocking turn of events, the family of renowned former McLaren Formula 1 driver, Jochen Mass, has revealed that he recently experienced a medical emergency. The 79-year-old racing legend, who competed in Formula 1 from 1973 to 1982, including stints with teams like McLaren, ATS, Arrows, and March, is now in a stable condition following the concerning incident.

During his time in Formula 1, Jochen Mass secured one race victory and stood on the podium eight times, with his most successful period being with McLaren between 1975 and 1977. Not only a force to be reckoned with in the world of Formula 1, but Mass also triumphed in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1989, driving a Sauber C9 Mercedes-Benz alongside Manuel Reuter and Stanley Dickens.

The official statement from Mass’ family, shared on his Instagram page, provided an update on his health, stating, “The family of Jochen Mass wishes to share that he is currently recovering from a recent medical emergency. While Jochen’s condition is stable, he will be stepping back from all public appearances and engagements for the foreseeable future as he focuses on his recovery. We as a family are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and kindly request privacy during this time. We are wishing Jochen a speedy recovery.”
