In a thrilling and action-packed session at the 2025 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri outshined his competitors by setting the fastest time amidst four dramatic stoppages that disrupted FP2.

The excitement began when Ryo Hirakawa took Oscar Piastri’s place at Alpine during FP1, leading to a series of unexpected events in FP2. Australian driver Doohan’s debut at Suzuka turned disastrous as he crashed only four laps into the session, causing significant damage to his Alpine A525 and a prolonged stoppage.

The drama continued as Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin spun out of control, resulting in another red flag and further delays. Despite the setbacks, Lando Norris managed to clock the fastest time before a bizarre third stoppage caused by sparks igniting burning grass trackside.

Ultimately, Piastri stole the show by setting a blistering lap time of 1:28.114s, narrowly beating his teammate Norris. The session concluded with yet another stoppage, reminiscent of the chaos witnessed at the Chinese Grand Prix in 2024.

The drivers were denied the opportunity to practice starts due to a blaze along the track’s perimeter, adding another layer of unpredictability to an already eventful FP2 session at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Formula 1 fans were left on the edge of their seats as Piastri’s dominance, unexpected crashes, and fiery interruptions created a spectacle worth watching. Stay tuned for more updates on the F1 2025 Japanese Grand Prix.
