Revolutionizing Racing: Rahal’s Bold Move with Frye to Propel RLL to New Heights

Graham Rahal (15) rounds turn 14 during The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix in Thermal, Calif., Sunday, March 23, 2025.

IndyCar Sensation: Graham Rahal’s Bold Move with Jay Frye at RLL

Graham Rahal, the acclaimed IndyCar driver, is making headlines with his team’s latest power move. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) has brought on board the former IndyCar president, Jay Frye, as its new leader, and Rahal couldn’t be more thrilled.

Rahal, who had contemplated stepping out of the cockpit to assist in managing the family-owned team, is now fully focused on racing the No. 15 Honda, thanks to Frye’s appointment as the team president. In an exclusive interview with RACER, Rahal expressed his admiration for Frye’s diverse and extensive experience in various roles within the motorsport industry.

Frye’s unique background and skill set have already proven to be a game-changer for RLL. Rahal emphasized the importance of Frye’s commercial acumen and deep understanding of the sport, which sets him apart from traditional team presidents. With Frye at the helm, Rahal believes RLL is poised to reach new heights in the competitive world of IndyCar racing.

The strategic hiring of Frye comes at a crucial time for RLL, following some turbulence in the team’s management and financial stability in recent years. Rahal acknowledged the contributions of former RLL COO Steve Eriksen and expressed his confidence in Frye’s ability to lead the team to greater success.

As Rahal gears up for what could be his final seasons as a full-time IndyCar driver, he is optimistic about the team’s prospects under Frye’s leadership. With a renewed sense of purpose and a strong team dynamic, Rahal is determined to make a lasting impact on the sport before eventually transitioning into an executive role within RLL.

In addition to his own racing career, Rahal is also committed to mentoring the next generation of IndyCar talent, including his RLL teammates Louis Foster and Devlin DeFrancesco. With a wealth of experience and knowledge to share, Rahal sees an opportunity to shape the future of the sport through his mentorship and coaching roles.

Looking ahead, Rahal is already considering potential successors to carry on his legacy in the sport. One standout candidate is Juri Vips, a talented young driver whom Rahal believes has the skills and potential to succeed at the highest level of motorsport.

With Rahal’s unwavering determination and Frye’s strategic vision, RLL is poised for a new era of success in IndyCar racing. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Rahal and his team as they strive for victory on and off the track.
