Helmut Marko Exposes Shocking Obstacle to Yuki Tsunoda’s Red Bull Promotion

In a jaw-dropping revelation, Helmut Marko, the senior advisor of the Red Bull Formula 1 team, hinted at a surprising barrier that stood in the way of Yuki Tsunoda’s promotion within the team. Marko suggested that Adrian Newey, the former chief technical officer of Red Bull, may have been a hindrance to the talented Japanese driver’s advancement.

Tsunoda, who was moved up from Red Bull’s junior team, Racing Bulls, following Liam Lawson’s initial struggles with the RB21 challenger, had been overlooked for a promotion during the off-season, despite his four seasons with the team based in Faenza.

Marko insinuated to the Austrian newspaper Kleine Zeitung that Newey’s departure to Aston Martin for the current season might have played a role in Tsunoda’s delayed promotion. He mentioned Tsunoda’s past inconsistencies and errors, highlighting an incident in Mexico where Tsunoda’s actions led to damage on Max Verstappen’s car, enraging Newey.

However, Marko expressed confidence in Tsunoda’s capabilities, stating that the young driver has the potential to become a number one driver in Formula 1. With Red Bull’s current focus on Verstappen, rumors swirling about Verstappen’s future, including a possible move to Aston Martin or Mercedes, Marko sees Tsunoda as a suitable candidate to take on a leading role within the team.

Marko praised Tsunoda’s growth and self-assurance, emphasizing his improved performance and maturity. The advisor even revealed Tsunoda’s ambitious goal of securing a podium finish in Japan, showcasing the driver’s newfound confidence and determination.

As the Formula 1 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Tsunoda as he aims to prove his worth and solidify his position within the Red Bull team. With Marko’s backing and Tsunoda’s relentless drive, the young Japanese driver is set to make a significant impact on the sport and potentially claim his spot as a top contender in the world of Formula 1.
