Red Bull Racing Drama Unveiled: The Truth Behind Franco Colapinto’s Status Revealed

In a shocking turn of events, Red Bull’s advisor, Helmut Marko, has debunked wild rumors surrounding Franco Colapinto’s potential replacement of Liam Lawson at Red Bull ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. Despite speculations, Colapinto was never seriously considered for the position, as confirmed by Marko himself.

Following a tumultuous start to the F1 2025 season, Lawson faced consequences for his underwhelming performance, leading to his demotion to the Racing Bulls junior team. In a swift move by Red Bull, Yuki Tsunoda was granted a promotion to the senior team, becoming Max Verstappen’s new teammate.

Amidst swirling rumors, it was speculated that Red Bull was reconsidering Colapinto for a significant role within the team. However, insider sources close to the situation revealed that these claims were unfounded, setting the record straight on the Argentine driver’s future with Red Bull.

Marko shed light on the situation, emphasizing that discussions with Alpine team principal Oliver Oakes did not involve the possibility of signing Colapinto. The focus was primarily on the progress of Fionn McLaughin, a young Red Bull junior driver competing in the British F4 series.

Although Colapinto had previously caught Red Bull’s attention with standout performances, his inconsistent results in Formula 2 led to him being overlooked in favor of Isack Hadjar, who proved to be the right choice for the team. Marko clarified that Colapinto was never a serious contender due to his performance comparison with Hadjar in the junior categories.

The drama within Red Bull Racing escalated as former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher disclosed internal disagreements over driver selections. While Marko favored Lawson or Tsunoda, team principal Christian Horner pushed for Colapinto, only to be overruled following Colapinto’s string of accidents in 2024.

As tensions rise and alliances shift within the Red Bull Racing hierarchy, the future of the team’s driver lineup remains uncertain. With conflicting opinions and strategic decisions coming to light, the dynamics within the team are undoubtedly causing a stir in the Formula 1 community.
