IndyCar Powerhouse Jay Frye Electrifies RLL as Team President – Shocking Details Inside

Ex-IndyCar Chief Takes the Wheel at RLL in Major Team Shake-Up

In a shocking move within the motorsport world, Jay Frye, the former IndyCar President, has shifted gears to join Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) as the team’s new president. This groundbreaking announcement comes after Frye’s impressive 12-year tenure with IndyCar, where he spearheaded crucial safety innovations and strategic planning for the series.

Frye’s departure from IndyCar just before the 2025 season raised eyebrows, paving the way for Doug Boles to step into his shoes while still retaining his position as president of the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The racing community was left speculating about Frye’s next move until RLL’s bombshell revelation on Tuesday.

Stepping into his new role as team president, Frye brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in the industry. Alongside Frye’s appointment, RLL bid farewell to Steve Eriksen, the former chief operating officer, as the team undergoes a major leadership transition.

Bobby Rahal, co-owner of RLL, expressed gratitude for Eriksen’s contributions and extended a warm welcome to Frye, emphasizing his longstanding relationship with the new president and their shared vision for the team’s future success. Frye’s mandate will extend across RLL’s participation in both the NTT IndyCar Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, reporting directly to the team’s ownership group.

With immediate effect, Frye will lead RLL into its upcoming challenges, starting with the adrenaline-pumping Grand Prix of Long Beach scheduled for April 11-13. Confident in the team’s legacy of triumphs, Frye expressed pride in joining RLL and highlighted the organization’s unwavering dedication to excellence in motorsport.

As motorsport enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the impact of Frye’s leadership on RLL’s performance, the stage is set for a thrilling new chapter in the team’s illustrious history. Stay tuned for more updates as Frye steers RLL towards a future filled with victory and glory on and off the track.
