Renault Twingo E-Tech: conheça protótipo que vai estar no Salão de Paris

Nissan announced this Monday that it will introduce a new 100% electric city model, based on the new Renault Twingo in 2026, thus confirming its strategy to reduce costs and development time.

The new model to be designed by Nissan is aimed at segment A and will be based on the AmpR Small platform used by the fully electric Renault 5.

The agreement for the new Nissan model comes after the Japanese brand announced that Renault acquired the 51% stake that the Japanese brand held in the Indian joint venture, Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd. (RNAIPL), now owning the entire company.

This change will contribute to Renault’s international growth plan while also helping Nissan cut costs as part of its recovery plan.

The agreement also ensures that ongoing projects between Renault and Nissan in India will continue and that RNAIPL will maintain the production of Nissan vehicles, including the new Magnite, which promises to contribute to the brand’s growth in India.

More broadly, the Renault Group and Nissan have agreed to a new Alliance agreement, which brings together the two manufacturers and includes Mitsubishi, in which the “blocking commitment” of cross-shareholding has been reduced from 15% to 10%.

Additionally, Nissan will also be “released” from the commitment to invest in Ampere, as part of the investment agreement signed on July 26, 2023, between Renault Group, Nissan, and Ampere.
