Despite P3 Finish, Verstappen Admits Red Bull’s Struggles Ahead of 2025 Australian GP

In a shocking turn of events, the F1 world is ablaze with controversy as Max Verstappen and a trio of drivers express their disapproval of Red Bull’s decision to demote Liam Lawson. The uproar began when Verstappen, the reigning F1 champion, subtly showed his support for Lawson by liking an Instagram post criticizing the demotion.

Joining Verstappen in condemning Red Bull’s move are Pierre Gasly, Nico Hulkenberg, and Oscar Piastri, all of whom also liked the post questioning the team’s decision. The post, made by former F1 driver Giedo van der Garde, likened Lawson’s demotion to “bullying or a panic move” rather than a fair sporting decision.

Van der Garde’s impassioned plea for fairness and understanding towards Lawson struck a chord not only with Verstappen but also with Gasly, who himself faced a similar fate when demoted by Red Bull in 2019. The support extended to Hulkenberg and Piastri, adding fuel to the already raging fire of discontent within the F1 community.

The Red Bull swap that saw Lawson being replaced by Yuki Tsunoda has sparked debates about the ruthless nature of the sport and the treatment of young talents. With Verstappen and his peers openly expressing their dissent, the pressure is mounting on Red Bull to justify their decision and address the concerns raised by the drivers.

As the F1 world watches closely, the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix will not only be a battleground on the track but also a stage for the ongoing drama and tensions within the Red Bull Racing Team. Will Lawson’s spirit be crushed, or will he rise above the adversity and prove his critics wrong? Only time will tell in this high-stakes game of speed, skill, and controversy.
