Fernando Alonso Battles Neck Injury Amid Rocky Start to 2025 F1 Season

In a dramatic turn of events, Formula 1 veteran Fernando Alonso is grappling with a neck injury that has shadowed his performance at the start of the 2025 season. The 43-year-old racing icon, who has been unable to complete his last two races, is yet to score a single point this year.

Alonso’s latest setback came during the Chinese Grand Prix, where he was forced to retire a mere four laps into the race. It was a disappointing outcome for the Aston Martin driver, who revealed post-race that he has been enduring a pinched nerve in his neck. “I was wearing some neck protection because I’ve had a pinched nerve or something these past few days,” Alonso candidly shared.

This persistent injury raises questions about Alonso’s ability to compete at the highest level as the season progresses. His struggle is a stark reminder of the physical toll that Formula 1 exacts on even the most seasoned drivers. Fans and analysts alike are left pondering the impact this could have on Alonso’s performance and whether he can overcome this hurdle to reclaim his competitive edge.

As the racing season accelerates, all eyes will be on Alonso to see how he manages this personal and professional challenge. His resilience and determination will undoubtedly be tested, but if history is any indicator, the Spanish driver will leave no stone unturned in his quest to return to form.
