In a thrilling display of racing prowess, Lewis Hamilton clinched his inaugural victory as a Ferrari driver at the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint. The British champion’s triumph was marked by a nail-biting 19-lap race that saw him outpacing Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen to seize the chequered flag.

Hamilton’s win at the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint commenced with an intense start. With the pole position in his favor, Hamilton spent the first half of the race engaged in a grueling duel with Verstappen. The pair, known for their riveting rivalry during the 2021 championship, turned the race into a game of cat and mouse within the DRS range.

However, Hamilton’s strategic tyre management paid off handsomely. As Verstappen grappled with deteriorating tyres, Hamilton seized the opportunity to outmaneuver his rival. His spectacular break from Verstappen’s challenge left the door wide open for Piastri to join the fray.

The McLaren driver did not disappoint. In a gutsy move on the 15th lap, Piastri swooped past Verstappen at the hairpin turn. However, the Ferrari ace, Hamilton, had already used the chance to extend his lead. He eventually won the race with a staggering seven-second gap.

In other noteworthy performances, George Russell fended off a spirited charge from Charles Leclerc to secure the fourth spot. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda demonstrated commendable skill to stay ahead of Kimi Antonelli, driving the second Mercedes.

Lando Norris, despite a touch-and-go moment with the dirt on the opening lap that cost him positions, made a strong recovery to finish eighth. His single point finish ensured that he retains the top spot in the Drivers’ Championship, albeit by a slim margin of two points over Verstappen.

Hamilton’s victory at the Chinese Grand Prix Sprint not only marks his successful transition to Ferrari but also sets the tone for an exciting F1 2025 season. With the drivers pushing their limits and teams strategizing to outwit each other, the F1 tracks promise a season of high-octane action and suspense.
