Mitsubishi apresenta a nova geração do Outlander PHEV pensada para a Europa

Foxconn, Apple’s main production partner, may be on the verge of reaching an agreement with Mitsubishi to collaborate with the Japanese brand in the production of electric vehicles.

Recently, Foxconn has been associated with taking on a strategic partnership role with several Japanese brands, including Nissan, in order to reduce its dependence on consumer electronics and expand its business in the 100% electric vehicle market.

According to the publication “Nikkei Asia”, Foxconn has been in negotiations with Mitsubishi for over six months. The company sees in the Japanese manufacturer an opportunity to establish a partnership to showcase its automotive production capabilities, hoping that a collaboration between the two companies could attract other brands.

Foxconn’s president, Young Liu, has already revealed that he expects to sign a design and production service contract with a Japanese automaker soon, although he has not disclosed the name of the new partner.

The service provided by Foxconn, according to Young Liu, offers traditional automakers complete and customized electric vehicle solutions, thereby reducing costs and development time for new models.

Mitsubishi is viewed as a suitable partner for Foxconn in terms of operational scale, as the Japanese brand has Nissan as its main shareholder, and both brands are part of the Alliance with Renault. Thus, a successful partnership with Mitsubishi could increase the likelihood of Foxconn extending collaboration to Nissan in the future.
