Xiaomi utiliza melancia para mostrar a resistência da bateria do SU7 Ultra

The safety of batteries in 100% electric vehicles is something that brands heavily invest in, leading to many tests that subject the batteries to extreme conditions.

At Xiaomi, CEO Lei Jun has now decided to reveal the safety of the batteries that equip the SU7, and to do this, he used a watermelon dropped from the sixth floor of the Chinese brand’s factory, coated with the same material that the batteries of 100% electric vehicles use.

The video now revealed through social media shows that the watermelon withstands the impact, as the coating surrounding it is designed to resist punctures, tears, abrasions, and strong impacts.

The same technology is applied to the battery of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, preventing the battery from suffering any damage in the event of an accident.

Additionally, Xiaomi has incorporated a set of structural, thermal, and electrical safety measures in the CTB (Cell-to-Body) battery system, which includes a 14-layer protection enhancement with ultra-resistant steel beams, an active cooling system of 7.8 m², aerogel insulation, as well as a battery management system powered by Artificial Intelligence.

Remember that Xiaomi launched the new SU7 Ultra in February in China, which features a Qilin 2.0 battery from CATL with a capacity of 93.7 kWh, allowing for a range of up to 620 km.

The battery powers three electric motors, two HyperEngine V8 motors and one V6 motor, providing a combined power of 1547 hp and 1,770 Nm of torque, which allows Xiaomi to announce that the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and reaches a top speed of 359 km/h.
