Tesla employees in Germany are demanding better working conditions, with over 3,000 signing a petition for more breaks, increased staffing, and an end to management’s intimidation tactics.
The news reported by “Bloomberg,” citing the German union IG Metall, also mentions that employees have been overworked for a long time and will have to take on new responsibilities with the production launch of the new Model Y, following the completion of the assembly line overhaul.
The pressure from Tesla’s factory workers in Germany comes at a time when the brand, led by Elon Musk, is trying to reverse the declining sales trend recorded in the largest automotive market in Europe.
It is worth noting that in Germany, Tesla sales fell by 59.5% in January, with only 1,277 new cars registered in the country, while in February, sales of the American brand’s electric models plummeted an impressive 76.3% compared to February 2024, with only 1,429 units sold.
