Alfa Romeo is determined to equip the new generation of the Giulia and Stelvio with combustion engine versions featuring a hybrid system, thus reversing its intention to produce only 100% electric versions of both models.
The plan from Alfa Romeo was discreetly revealed by Santo Ficili, the brand’s CEO, through LinkedIn, where he confirmed that the new generation of the Giulia and Stelvio will be based on the multi-energy STLA Large platform, which also supports the Jeep Recon and the Wagoneer S, as well as the Dodge Charger, and that the two models will be “available with a gasoline hybrid version”.
The head of Alfa Romeo also explained that the Italian brand’s plans for the next two years indicate the “global unveiling of the new Stelvio in 2025, and commercial launch in 2026”.
The refreshed Giulia will arrive later, in 2027, and it is already known that the model will adopt a new design and a new type of body, with everything pointing towards it adopting a compact SUV aesthetic instead of the familiar sedan image.
In the post revealed through LinkedIn, Santo Ficili also confirmed that “both models will be produced in Italy”.
