Brad Keselowski, the renowned RFK Racing team driver, recently rallied his team with an encouraging message at the Phoenix Raceway garage. Keselowski’s message to his No. 6 team was simple yet powerful: “Stay focused and ignore any distractions that undermine your self-confidence,” as he disclosed to RACER.

This pep talk came at a time when the team was facing a challenging day on the racing circuit. They were forced off the track following their involvement in a multi-car accident at Turn 2 on lap 99. Despite this setback, Keselowski expressed positivity about the team’s performance and the quality of their cars.

While acknowledging the disappointing start to the season, Keselowski emphasized the transient nature of success and failure in the sport. He said, “There’s been a series of circumstances that haven’t played in our favor, and those don’t last… this sport is about capitalizing when you have good fortune and shaking it off when you have bad fortune.”

The seasoned driver expressed his determination not to let the team’s morale be affected by temporary setbacks. Instead, he stressed the importance of staying focused on seizing opportunities when they come.

Keselowski’s message to his team comes in the wake of a difficult start to the season, with him failing to finish two of the first four races and placing outside the top 25 in three out of four races. His best result so far has been a 15th place finish at the Circuit of The Americas.

Despite the initial challenges, Keselowski stands optimistic about the team’s prospects. He acknowledges the teething pains within the organization, including the introduction of a new crew chief, Jeremy Bullins, and the expansion to a third car.

As both a driver and co-owner, Keselowski recognizes the importance of strong leadership and is confident about the team’s potential. He believes his team can win any of the upcoming seven or eight races if they execute well and avoid misfortune.

Even as he stands at 33rd in the standings, Keselowski remains undeterred. He’s confident the team isn’t chasing speed or comfortable-feeling race cars, but rather needs to execute better and avoid any misfortune. According to him, the potential for success is certainly there. His inspiring leadership and unwavering faith in his team underscore the power of resilience and optimism in the face of adversity.
