The wait is finally over for film and Formula 1 enthusiasts as the release date for the much-awaited blockbuster, F1, is unveiled. The film features the heartthrob of Hollywood, Brad Pitt, under the direction of Top Gun: Maverick’s helmsman, Joseph Kosinski.
F1, a movie endorsed by the official Formula 1, is set to speed onto the big screen as announced in a post shared by F1. The story revolves around the fictional APXGP team, which seeks the guidance of a seasoned racer played by Brad Pitt.
In the narrative, Pitt’s character, a former Formula 1 driver, transitions to the world of endurance racing following the conclusion of his Formula 1 career. A young star in the racing world, portrayed by Damson Idris, necessitates mentorship, prompting the team to enlist the expertise of Pitt’s character.
Further details about the movie were shared by the lead actor himself. In a conversation with Martin Brundle of Sky F1, Brad Pitt narrated his character’s journey. He said, “I play Sonny Hayes, a racer from the 1990s who experiences a dreadful crash, falls out of the spotlight, and then finds himself racing in different disciplines.”
The plot thickens as his friend, a team owner played by Javier Bardem, reaches out to him. Their team is in the last place, consistently ranking 21-22 on the grid without a single point to their name. However, their fortune changes with the arrival of a young whizz-kid, played by Damson Idris. Pitt’s character is brought on board in a desperate attempt to salvage the team’s reputation, leading to a series of unexpected events.
Pitt further expressed his excitement about the unique filming techniques employed in the movie. He said, “What’s truly amazing about this film are the cameras mounted all over the car. This cinematic approach offers a never-seen-before perspective of speed and the G-forces. It’s incredibly exciting.”
The announcement of the release date was accompanied by the unveiling of a new trailer and a behind-the-scenes video. These can be viewed on Formula 1’s official YouTube channel. This film promises to offer an adrenaline-pumping cinematic experience, merging the thrill of racing with compelling storytelling.
