As the Formula 1 2025 season gears up for its thrilling opener, all eyes are set on the Australian Grand Prix. McLaren’s Lando Norris has emerged as a favourite following an impressive preseason performance. However, the real question is: who has the best betting odds to clinch the coveted title?

The Albert Park Circuit will echo with the roar of engines on March 16, 15:00 local time. A gruelling 58-lap challenge awaits the drivers, including reigning champion Max Verstappen, who is ready to fend off fierce competition from the likes of Norris, Charles Leclerc, and the legendary Lewis Hamilton, among others.

Despite their reputation, Red Bull doesn’t seem to be among the top contenders this year, reminding us of their 2024 performance. However, the ultimate revelation will only come when the five red lights dim on race day.

As the anticipation escalates, punters worldwide are speculating the race outcome. Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was the triumphant victor of the 2024 Australian GP, but does he stand a chance in 2025?

Betting on the Australian GP has become a tradition, attracting both casual spectators and seasoned bettors. The race’s unpredictable nature, coupled with the inherent variables of Formula 1, makes for an exciting challenge.

The Australian GP is renowned for its high-speed battles and heart-stopping moments. The 2025 season promises to deliver this and much more as teams prepare to face the circuit’s unique demands. A blend of driver skill and car performance is crucial for success, adding another layer of excitement to the betting landscape.

Interestingly, there’s an 80% chance of rainfall during the race, possibly disrupting qualifying rounds. This unpredictable element could prove profitable for bettors who back the right driver to overturn the odds.

Who are the favourites to win the 2025 Australian GP? While Sainz is the defending race winner and Verstappen holds the title of the defending drivers’ champion, neither seems to be the preferred choice for the 2025 Australian GP. Instead, bookmakers are favouring McLaren’s Norris.

McLaren’s preseason testing showed promising signs of speed and minimal tyre wear, putting them in a strong position to dominate the season opener. Yet, the expected rain could turn the tables. Wet-weather experts like Hamilton, Verstappen, and Fernando Alonso might just steal the limelight.

Besides Norris, Charles Leclerc and Verstappen are the ones to watch, according to betting markets. Australian driver Oscar Piastri could have a chance at making history by becoming the first Aussie to win his home race since 1980. Meanwhile, Hamilton, renowned for his rain mastery, might just kick off his Ferrari career with a bang by winning the Australian GP, a title he hasn’t claimed since 2015.

Another potential wildcard is George Russell with Mercedes, who performed exceptionally well in cooler temperatures in 2024, claiming victories at the wet British GP and chilly Las Vegas GP.

As the 2025 Australian GP approaches, remember to follow Total-Motorsport.com for live coverage of every session and post-session coverage. Don’t miss any of the action from the Albert Park Circuit. Will McLaren’s Norris live up to the betting hype, or will we witness an unexpected upset? Only time will tell.
