Toyota apresenta o FT-Me: um novo conceito de micromobilidade para a Europa

Toyota is determined to enter the micromobility market, and this Wednesday, it unveiled the FT-Me Concept, which anticipates a 100% electric model with which the Japanese brand aims to compete with the Citroën Ami, the Fiat Tipolino, as well as the Duo and Bento, the quadricycles from Mobilize, part of the Renault Group.

According to Toyota, the FT-Me combines “premium design with accessibility. Inspired by the success of Toyota’s mobility solutions developed for the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games”.

The style of the small 100% electric vehicle is inspired by a jet helmet, combining the contrast of two tones, black and white, to convey a sense of safety, robustness, and a light, go-anywhere attitude.

Equipped with pronounced fenders, small protrusions, and a luminous LED signature, the FT-Me utilizes recycled materials, and its enhanced versatility has been designed to meet the diverse needs of users, offering customizable options for teenagers and professionals, along with an innovative 360-degree visibility concept that ensures maximum visual contact with other road users, increasing safety.

With a length of less than 2.5 meters, the FT-Me is more than 1.2 meters smaller than the Toyota Aygo X, which according to the Japanese brand allows it to occupy half a parking space, or a third when parked perpendicularly.

The cabin features a two-seater layout, although the passenger seat can be removed to transport larger items. The rectangular steering wheel has been designed for use by wheelchair drivers and allows the vehicle to be “driven solely through manual controls” without the need for pedals. There is also a digital instrument panel with a small screen, equipped with advanced connectivity features.

Equipped with a propulsion system that consumes three times less energy per kilometer than a high-capacity battery electric car, the FT-Me is outfitted with cutting-edge solar panel roof technology that can recharge the battery, adding 20 to 30 km of range per day in urban environments.

Toyota has not revealed the technical specifications of the engine or the battery used by the FT-Me, nor the date when the production model is expected to hit the market.
