The first 100% electric model from Lamborghini is expected to hit the market by the end of the decade, and everything suggests it will offer a power of around 2,000 hp, making it the most powerful sports car ever from the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand.

Previewed by the Lanzador concept presented at Pebble Beach in 2023, Lamborghini’s first fully electric sports car promises to take the form of a 2+2 SUV. VW Group CEO, Oliver Blume, mentioned in an interview with “Autocar” that the new sports car will utilize “a special platform developed by Porsche, which will also be used by Audi and Bentley, allowing for up to 2,000 hp and a 980-volt electric system, a very specific configuration for Lamborghini.”

The prospect of a 980 V electric architecture for future performance models from the VW Group is undoubtedly a step forward for the brand, as currently, most electric vehicles from the VW Group use a 400 V architecture, although an increasing number are utilizing an 800 V system that allows for faster charging, greater power delivery, and improved efficiency.

Oliver Blume confirmed that the first 100% electric model from Lamborghini will be assembled in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, but did not specify where the body and batteries will be produced. However, he assured that the fully electric sports car “will be a typically Lamborghini model, very emotional”.
