Nova geração do MG3 apresentada no Salão de Genebra

MG has revealed the revamped MG3 at the opening of the Geneva Motor Show, which features a new design, more technology, and a hybrid powertrain.

On the outside, it is easy to see that the revamped MG3 has slightly larger dimensions than its predecessor, measuring 4,113 mm in length, 1,797 mm in width, and 1,502 mm in height. Additionally, space is not lacking, and the model features a trunk with a capacity of 298 liters.

Inside, the highlight is the 7-inch instrument panel and an infotainment system equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, with improved graphics and standard navigation and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

In addition, the MG3 also features air conditioning, four USB ports, rear sensors and cameras, as well as MG Pilot technology, which includes a set of driver assistance systems, including lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning.

Regarding mechanics, the renewed MG3 is equipped only with a hybrid system that combines a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 104 hp and 128 Nm of maximum torque, Atkinson cycle, with a 107 hp electric motor, powered by a 1.83 kWh battery, which allows a combined total power of 192 hp and a maximum torque of 425 Nm, which is transmitted to the front axle through a three-speed automatic gearbox.

The driver has access to three driving modes, Eco, Standard, and Sport, and in the sportiest mode, the MG3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 170 km/h. Additionally, the MG3 announces a combined fuel consumption of 4.4 l/100 km and emits 100 g/km of CO2.

Although not revealing many details about the chassis of this renewed MG3, the brand has stated that “new high-strength components” have been added, which, along with a new suspension tuning, improve the behavior, driving refinement, and acoustic insulation compared to the previous MG3.
