AO Racing’s beloved “Rexy” is set to sport a revamped appearance at the forthcoming Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, following a critical dental makeover. Fans will remember the dramatic final hour of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, where Laurin Heinrich was vying for the second spot in GTD PRO. The race took a dramatic turn when Rexy, the No. 77 Porsche 911 “GT3 Rawr,” was struck from behind by Fabian Schiller’s GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3. The collision led to a heart-rending loss of Rexy’s teeth and, of greater consequence, the damage disqualified AO Racing from the victory race.
In a bid to recover from this setback, AO Racing wasted no time in dispatching Rexy to the orthodontist following the race weekend. According to a statement released by the racing team today, “Rexy now boasts a dazzling new smile.” The team has also taken steps to ensure Rexy’s optimal performance, enlisting the help of their dinosaur DNA experts. After a thorough examination, the doctors prescribed Mobil 1, promising to keep everyone’s favorite T-Rex at the top of his game.
In line with this treatment, Rexy will be sporting additional Mobil 1 decals at Sebring. This development comes as Laurin Heinrich, Klaus Bachler, and Alessio Picariello gear up for their first victory of the year. Evidently, the team is leaving no stone unturned in their quest for the coveted win.
In addition to Rexy’s triumphant return, AO Racing is also launching their Fan Corner, a platform for fans to share their support for the team and their favorite racers – Rexy, Spike, and Roxy. The successful fitting of Rexy’s dental brace has added a new element of excitement to the forthcoming race, promising a thrilling experience for all the fans.
