Mercedes-AMG Petronas Expands Junior Programme for 2025: Rashid Al Dhaheri Among the Chosen Talent

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team has made headlines with the expansion of its junior programme for the year 2025. This ambitious initiative will feature a dozen young prodigies, all vying for supremacy in a range of categories, from grassroots karting to the prestigious FIA Formula 3.

Among the cohort of promising talents is one name that stands out – Rashid Al Dhaheri. A young man who has been under the careful watch of Mercedes since his karting days, Dhaheri is the latest addition to Mercedes’ junior programme. With this announcement, the young Emirati driver has truly arrived on the international racing scene.

Mercedes’ junior programme is a testament to its commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a new generation of world-class drivers. The programme’s success is evident in the ascension of its alumni to the team’s premier ranks. In 2025, two former participants of the programme, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, have been announced as the main drivers for the Mercedes Formula 1 team, demonstrating the effectiveness of the initiative.

The support offered by the programme extends beyond the starting grid, with Fred Vesti, another graduate, serving as a reserve driver for the team. This integrated approach to driver development underscores Mercedes’ dedication to creating a sustainable pipeline of talent for Formula 1 racing.

In conclusion, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 Team’s expanded junior programme is a strategic move that not only ensures a steady stream of skilled drivers for the future but also highlights the team’s investment in the future of the sport. With promising talents like Rashid Al Dhaheri in the pipeline, the future of Mercedes’ F1 racing looks brighter than ever.
