Stellantis apresenta o STLA AutoDrive com condução autónoma de Nível 3

Stellantis has introduced the STLA AutoDrive 1.0, an internally developed system that offers level 3 autonomous driving up to 60 km/h, reducing the driver’s effort in urban areas and allowing for better use of time in traffic.

According to Stellantis, the system can be activated by a physical button when appropriate conditions are detected, allowing the system to take control while maintaining safe distances, adjusting speed, and managing steering and braking in an integrated manner based on traffic flow.

The STLA AutoDrive continuously monitors the environment surrounding the vehicle through an advanced set of sensors to ensure high precision awareness and reliable operation, even in nighttime driving or more challenging weather conditions, such as light rain or spray from other vehicles.

The system also features an automated cleaning mechanism for the sensors to keep critical components clean for proper functioning.

At higher speeds, the STLA AutoDrive offers the convenience of Adaptive Cruise Control and lane centering functions in Level 2 (“Hands-on”) and Level 2+ (“Hands-off”, “Eyes-on”) modes. Developed based on a scalable architecture, the STLA AutoDrive is ready to be implemented and can be adapted to global markets through Stellantis vehicles, ensuring a seamless implementation as business strategies align with market demand.

The system is also connected to the cloud, allowing for continuous improvements through over-the-air updates and real-time data integration for optimized performance.

Stellantis has also announced that the new system complies with applicable regulations in supported markets and requires drivers to remain seated, with their seatbelts fastened and ready to take control whenever requested. Furthermore, it also adheres to the legislations of different regions regarding driver conduct, including restrictions on mobile phone usage.

“Helping drivers make the most of their time is a priority”, stated Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer of Stellantis. “By handling the more routine driving tasks, STLA AutoDrive will enhance the driving experience, making time behind the wheel more efficient and enjoyable.”
