O Futuro dos Desportivos de Luxo: Ferrari F167, a Sucessora da 812, apanhado em Testes para 2025

Ferrari, an iconic Italian car manufacturer, has been a reference in the world of V12-powered grand tourers, a heritage from its racing roots. Although the V12 has disappeared from F1 and WEC competitions, Ferrari maintains the tradition of this engine in its top-of-the-line models, prioritizing the unique sound experience it offers.

The F140 engine, a 65-degree V12 known for its high-revving capability, was introduced by Ferrari over two decades ago with the launch of the Enzo, a limited-edition model. This engine evolved from 6.0 liters initially to 6.3 liters in the FF, and more recently to 6.5 liters in the 812 Superfast.

With the 812 series showing signs of age, Ferrari is preparing to unveil a new flagship grand tourer in May 2024, the highly anticipated F167. This model is currently undergoing intensive testing, evidenced by recent videos showing three distinct prototypes, one of which features lines that resemble the Roma more than the Superfast.

Marcel Massini, a recognized expert in the Ferrari world, states that the F167 will be officially presented on May 2, prior to the Miami Grand Prix. Participants of the Ferrari Cavalcade International USA 2024 will have the opportunity to attend the launch event, with the option to add an F1 experience package at an additional cost.

In addition to a silhouette reminiscent of the 812, the F167 promises innovations such as four-wheel steering, similar to the 812 Competizione, and a range of electronic assists to improve driving.

The heart of the F167 will be an evolution of the F140 engine, with improvements focused on achieving approximately 850 horsepower without the need for hybridization or increased displacement. There are rumors that this engine will have a higher rev range, possibly exceeding 9,500 rpm.

Given the strict emissions and fuel economy regulations, the F167 is expected to have a higher price than its predecessor. Ferrari also plans to launch its first mass-produced electric vehicle in 2025, anticipating that 40% of its sales in 2030 will be fully electric vehicles.

In the meantime, Ferrari continues to explore electrification with the hybrid models 296 and SF90. After the release of the F167, the brand plans to introduce a successor to the LaFerrari with a V6 engine and some level of electrification, promising to set new performance standards.

The F167 represents the future of Ferrari’s luxury sports cars, maintaining the tradition of V12 engines while embracing technological innovation to offer an unparalleled driving experience.
