Haas has unveiled its VF-25 Formula 1 car for the 2025 season, marking a significant milestone in the team’s decade-long journey in Formula 1. The American squad revealed the car during the F1 75 season launch at London’s O2 Arena, showcasing a refreshed design scheme that includes a notable increase in the use of white, alongside the team’s signature black and red colours. The updated livery also saw a reveal through a show car and earlier leaked renders from a shakedown at Silverstone over the weekend.
The VF-25 is a departure from its predecessor with a predominant white presence, covering the monocoque and nosecone, and extending to the sidepods. These changes reflect a more modern and aggressive look as Haas enters its 10th season in Formula 1.
Looking to Build on 2024 Success
Haas finished 2024 in a solid 7th place in the Constructors’ Championship, a result that marked a promising campaign for the team. Under the leadership of Ayao Komatsu, who replaced the long-serving Guenther Steiner, Haas is eager to capitalize on its progress.
In 2025, the team will be led by a new driver lineup, with Esteban Ocon, a Formula 1 race winner, joining the team alongside Oliver Bearman, the Ferrari prospect making his rookie debut. Ocon had the honor of putting the VF-25 through its paces in a private shakedown at Silverstone, while Bearman will get his first taste of the car at another shakedown session in Bahrain on February 24.
Commitment to Unprecedented Development
Haas Chairman Gene Haas expressed his confidence in the team’s direction, stating, “We had a very encouraging year in 2024, so I’m naturally looking forward to seeing further progress made this season with the VF-25. The team pulled together last year, both on and off-track, and now we have two new drivers in Esteban and Ollie to incorporate into the team and hopefully keep us headed in the right direction.”
The team will continue to push forward with the “unprecedented” development that propelled them to one of their best seasons since 2018. Key changes to the VF-25 include revised sidepod inlets, broader cannons on the engine cover, and a rear wing with a noticeable side cut-out, all of which are designed to further enhance performance.
Komatsu Speaks on Haas’ Ambitions
Ayao Komatsu, who took the reins in 2024, is excited about the team’s prospects as they enter their 10th season in the sport. “Our motivation levels have never been higher heading into a brand-new season,” said Komatsu. “To have been in the fight for sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship all the way to the final round in 2024 was great to be a part of. The level of development we enjoyed throughout the year was unprecedented in our history.”
Komatsu also emphasized the team’s unified efforts across its bases in Kannapolis, Banbury, and Maranello, ensuring that Haas will hit the ground running when pre-season testing kicks off in Bahrain. The team has worked hard to evolve the VF-24 concept and integrate its successful upgrades into the new VF-25 design.
Looking Ahead
With their new driver lineup and an improved car, Haas is determined to continue its upward trajectory and fight for a more competitive position in 2025. The goal is clear: to build on the foundation established last season and push for even better results as the season progresses.
