Chase Elliott’s Wild Super Bowl Weekend: Big Game, Big Jet, and Big Dreams in the Sky

Chase Elliott answers questions from reporters during Media Day at Daytona International Speedway, Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025.

For NASCAR’s golden boy Chase Elliott, the Super Bowl was more than just a football game—it was a weekend of firsts, excess, and high-flying luxury. From his first-ever trip to New Orleans to witnessing the Philadelphia Eagles dismantle the Kansas City Chiefs, Elliott soaked in the spectacle. And when it was all over, he jetted off in his brand-new $5.7 million private plane, proving once again that when it comes to speed—on the track or in the air—he never slows down.

Super Bowl Overload: Elliott Overwhelmed by the Spectacle

Elliott may be used to sold-out crowds at Daytona and Talladega, but even a NASCAR champion couldn’t prepare for the sheer scale of the Super Bowl experience.

“Everything is just exactly what you would think it would be,” Elliott told Dale Earnhardt Jr. on a recent podcast. “Everything is just done to the 10th degree—over the top.”

Attending his first-ever Super Bowl, Elliott couldn’t help but compare it to NASCAR’s biggest event. “It was reminiscent of racing at Daytona for the 500,” he said. “Everything is so dialed in, every detail is set, and the vibe in the air is just unbelievable.”

The production, the energy, and the behind-the-scenes action left him in awe. And while Elliott enjoyed the game, he had an extra reason to celebrate: the Chiefs lost.

Elliott’s Eagles Connection: Rooting for the Underdog

Though a die-hard Josh Allen fan, Elliott had no trouble switching allegiances when the Buffalo Bills fell out of contention. With the Chiefs constantly dominating the league, Elliott wanted nothing more than to see them fall.

“With that being said, the Chiefs are always tough, but I’m pulling for the Eagles,” Elliott admitted. “I’d like to see them win.”

As Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs watched their dynasty take a hit, Elliott soaked in the moment, just like millions of other NFL fans eager for fresh blood at the top.

From Racetrack to Runway: Elliott’s Private Jet Upgrade

But the Super Bowl wasn’t just about football for Elliott—it was also about flying in style. The 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion has long been passionate about aviation, a trait he inherited from his legendary father Bill Elliott. And now, he’s taken that passion to a whole new level.

Elliott recently traded in his 2006 Cessna Citation 525B for a brand-new 2013 model, a jet valued at a staggering $5.695 million. The upgraded interior, improved cabin pressure, and refined flight controls make for an even smoother ride, allowing Elliott to travel with more speed, more comfort, and more sophistication than ever before.

And he wasted no time taking it for a spin. After Super Bowl LIX, Elliott departed New Orleans late Sunday night, flying back in his new aircraft. But this time, there was a difference—he wasn’t alone.

No More Solo Flights? Elliott Takes on a Co-Pilot

While Elliott has long been known for piloting his own planes, this time he had company. According to Aviate Alabama’s Brian, Elliott had recently returned from Flight Safety International in Orlando to get type-rated in the new aircraft, ensuring he’s fully qualified to operate it.

“Yeah, so he flew down there Friday and departed really late after the game Sunday evening,” Brian shared. “He had one co-pilot with him, so it looks like he won’t be flying it solo anymore.”

Though Elliott’s love for controlling his own destiny—both on the track and in the sky—remains intact, the jump to a more advanced aircraft means he’ll now have an extra set of hands in the cockpit.

Chase Elliott: Always Chasing New Heights

Whether it’s dominating NASCAR’s biggest races or soaring through the skies in his private jet, Chase Elliott is always pushing the limits. His Super Bowl weekend was just another example of his relentless drive—both on the ground and in the air.

As the Daytona 500 looms, Elliott now shifts his focus back to the track. But one thing is clear: no matter where he’s headed, he’s getting there faster, smoother, and with style.
