Kevin Harvick Blasts Hendrick Motorsports for “Fumbling the Bag” on Kyle Larson’s 2024 Title Bid

Kevin Harvick Drops Bombshell: Scrap the Clash & All-Star Race for a $1M Short-Track Series

Kevin Harvick arrives at the 2023 NASCAR Awards Banquet at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season was a rollercoaster ride for Kyle Larson—one filled with dominance, heartbreak, and costly mistakes. Despite a six-win season, Larson once again fell short of the championship, while Joey Logano took home the ultimate prize.

Now, Kevin Harvick is calling out Hendrick Motorsports, pointing to team errors at critical moments as the reason Larson isn’t holding the trophy today.

🚨 “Their mistake ultimately led to Joey Logano winning the championship… It’s really not about who’s the fastest; it’s about who makes the least amount of mistakes in key moments.” — Kevin Harvick

Where Hendrick Went Wrong: The Critical Mistakes

✅ Larson’s 2024 stats:

  • 6 wins (tied for most in the series)
  • 15 top-5 finishes
  • 18 top-10 finishes

❌ Yet Logano, with only 4 wins and fewer top finishes, won the title.

So, what happened? Harvick pointed directly to a few disastrous moments, particularly the South Point 400 in the penultimate round of the playoffs.

📌 The Moment That Killed Larson’s Title Hopes:
At Las Vegas, Larson’s pit crew froze under pressure, botching a critical tire change that forced Larson into an extra pit stop. Meanwhile, Logano’s Team Penske crew executed flawlessly, capitalizing on every moment while Hendrick left Larson vulnerable.

🗣️ Harvick’s Analysis:
“As we got towards the final round, they fumbled the bag pretty bad with a couple of mistakes.”

Execution Over Speed: Why Logano Outperformed Larson

🔍 The Key Difference? Consistency.

While Ryan Blaney and Larson had more speed, Logano was flawless when it mattered most.

✅ Harvick on Logano’s Championship Strategy:
“Ryan Blaney has more speed than Logano, but Logano dots the i’s and crosses the t’s. He’s setting the bar right now by making more out of less.”

That’s exactly why Team Penske stole the championship, while Hendrick’s mistakes left Larson empty-handed—again.

The Big Debate: Is Hendrick Holding Back Kyle Larson?

🚨 Is Hendrick Motorsports sabotaging Larson’s championship hopes with costly mistakes?
🚨 Or is this just part of the unpredictable nature of NASCAR’s playoff system?

For Harvick, it’s simple:
🏆 “It’s about capitalizing on the moments that count.”

Until Hendrick Motorsports tightens up its execution, Harvick doesn’t believe Larson will reach his full championship potential—no matter how fast he is.

🔥 Can Larson and Hendrick fix their mistakes before 2025? Or is this a pattern that will cost him another title?
