BYD Dolphin chegou às 500 mil unidades produzidas

BYD has decided to elevate its rivalry with Tesla to a new level, announcing on Monday, February 10, that it will equip all of its electric models with advanced autonomous driving features similar to those used in its American rival’s models.

The confirmation of this decision by BYD was made by the founder of the Chinese brand, Wang Chuanfu, during a live-streamed event from Shenzhen, China, where he assured that the advanced driver assistance system, “God’s Eye,” will be available in three variants, tailored to different price ranges and vehicle characteristics.

The entry-level version, called “God’s Eye C,” will equip BYD’s lower-priced models, such as the Dolphin, and features 12 cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, allowing for 360-degree perception around the vehicle, with precision of up to 1 cm in the ultrasonic sensors.

The second version, “God’s Eye B,” includes a LiDAR sensor and will equip the brand’s premium models, as well as the Denza and Fang Cheng Bao ranges.

For the luxury models of the Yangwang brand, the available system will be “God’s Eye A,” which features three LiDAR sensors and is powered by the DiPilot 600. This system enables higher-level autonomous driving, facilitating complex maneuvers and greater interaction with the environment.

The announcement of this decision by BYD came on the same day the brand launched 21 models for sale in China, all equipped as standard with its advanced driver assistance system “God’s Eye” (ADAS), similar to what is offered by Tesla.
