Isack Hadjar: Racing Bulls’ Rookie Insists He’s Cool Under Pressure Despite Fiery Radio Outbursts

ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES - DECEMBER 10: Isack Hadjar of France driving the (37) Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 in the Pitlane during Formula 1 testing at Yas Marina Circuit on December 10, 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Is Isack Hadjar a composed racer or a ticking time bomb?

The new Racing Bulls Formula 1 rookie has made a bold claim ahead of his F1 debut in 2025—despite sounding like an angry firebrand on team radio, he insists he’s actually cool and calculated behind the visor.

🎥 Hadjar’s revelation comes via F1TV’s new behind-the-scenes documentary, ‘Rookies’, which chronicles the journeys of 2025’s Grand Prix newcomers.

The Monaco Meltdown: When Radio Rage Misled the World

Hadjar’s infamous Monaco heartbreak in Formula 2 serves as the backdrop for his radio controversy.

🏎️ The scenario? Leading in Monaco, poised for victory.
⚠️ The disaster? A Virtual Safety Car gamble allowed Zak O’Sullivan to snatch the win.
🎤 The aftermath? A frustrated Hadjar fuming on team radio.

🗣️ “It was a very tough day in the office,” Hadjar recalled.

But while his radio messages made him sound furious, Hadjar insists that’s not an accurate reflection of his mindset in the cockpit.

🗣️ “Honestly, I feel really composed when I drive. I think a lot. I’m aware of the danger. I wouldn’t say I am different to the guy on the outside.”

🗣️ “Maybe I am less aggressive than what people think. But obviously the radio button makes me look like a really angry guy.”

Still, he admits there’s a fire burning beneath the surface:

🗣️ “I know I’m passionate, that’s for sure, and angry at times.”

The Red Bull Ultimatum: How Hadjar Saved His F1 Dream

Hadjar’s journey to Formula 1 was anything but smooth. After a disastrous rookie F2 campaign in 2023, he thought his F1 dream was dead.

🚨 “I thought F1 was pretty much over.”

Then, Red Bull threw him a lifeline—but with an ultimatum:

🗣️ “It was the last chance to make it to F1.”

🔹 The Challenge? Red Bull sent him to Campos Racing, an underdog team in F2.
🔹 The Reality? One points finish in the first five races—a nightmare start.
🔹 The Turnaround? A feature race victory in Melbourne kickstarted a remarkable title charge.

🗣️ “[2024] started really wrong. I had all the pace in the world, but I couldn’t get the results.”

Hadjar fought back hard, dragging himself into the F2 title fight, only to see it slip through his fingers in Abu Dhabi after stalling on the grid.

Yet, despite that gut-wrenching finale, Hadjar’s resilience was enough to earn him a promotion to F1 with Racing Bulls—replacing Liam Lawson, who moved up to Red Bull.

Will Hadjar’s Passion Be an Asset or a Liability in F1?

Hadjar is no stranger to pressure, but in Formula 1, emotions are amplified. The challenge for the young French driver will be channeling his passion into results without letting frustration get the better of him.

🔹 Can he keep up with Yuki Tsunoda at Racing Bulls?
🔹 Will his aggressive mentality translate into success—or costly mistakes?
🔹 And will his radio outbursts become a distraction in high-stakes moments?

One thing’s for sure: Hadjar won’t be quiet, and he won’t be boring.

F1’s newest rookie is out to prove that he’s more than just an emotional competitor—he’s a future race winner.
