Bahrain Grand Prix Extends Gulf Air Partnership as 2025 Race Promises Spectacle Under the Desert Lights

When the Bahrain Grand Prix debuted on April 4, 2004, it became a trailblazer as the first Formula 1 race in the Middle East. Over the past two decades, it has cemented its place as a marquee event, delivering breathtaking night racing and a unique festival experience under the Gulf’s illuminated skies.

Now, as Formula 1 gears up for the 2025 edition, the Bahrain International Circuit is doubling down on its legacy, renewing its long-standing partnership with Gulf Air, the event’s title sponsor since Day 1.

A 21-Year Partnership That Transformed Bahrain into a Global Racing Hub

🗣️ Emily Prazer, Formula 1’s Chief Commercial Officer, praised Gulf Air’s continued commitment:

“Gulf Air’s enduring commitment to the Bahrain Grand Prix is a testament to the power of long-term partnerships in motorsport. Their support, spanning over two decades, has been instrumental in establishing this race as a favorite on the Formula 1 calendar, attracting fans from all over the world to a weekend of great racing and top entertainment.”

Gulf Air’s sponsorship has helped elevate the Bahrain Grand Prix into an iconic season-opener, seamlessly blending elite motorsport with rich Bahraini culture.

Bahrain’s F1 Boom: More Than Just Racing

Formula 1’s expansion into the Middle East—which now includes Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar—owes much to Bahrain’s pioneering role. Beyond its racing prestige, the Grand Prix is a major economic and tourism driver.

🗣️ Jeffrey Goh, Gulf Air Group CEO, emphasized the broader impact:

“This collaboration not only reinforces Bahrain’s prominent position on the international motorsport stage but also serves as a powerful catalyst for economic growth, tourism development, and global brand recognition for the Kingdom.”

The event attracts thousands of international fans, bringing hotels, restaurants, and businesses in Bahrain a significant economic boost.

2025 Bahrain Grand Prix: What to Expect
