Moët & Chandon Returns to Formula 1 Podiums in 2025—A Toast to Tradition

Formula 1 is bringing back a legendary name to its podium celebrations—Moët & Chandon will once again be the official champagne of the sport starting in the 2025 season. The iconic French winery, with a history spanning 282 years, will begin its third official partnership with F1, rekindling a relationship that dates back to the very origins of champagne spraying in motorsport.

🚨 Key Highlights:
✅ Moët & Chandon returns as F1’s official champagne for the 2025 season
✅ First used in 1950, officially became F1’s champagne partner in 1966
✅ Famous for starting the podium champagne tradition in motorsport
✅ Replacing Ferrari Trento, which held the deal from 2021-2024

A Champagne Tradition That Started with Fangio & Le Mans

While podium champagne spraying has become one of the most beloved traditions in Formula 1, many don’t realize that Moët & Chandon was there from the start.

📅 1950 French Grand Prix – Paul Chandon-Moët and Count Frédéric Chandon de Briailles presented a bottle of champagne to Juan Manuel Fangio, beginning the tradition of celebrating victory with a toast.

📅 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours – Dan Gurney famously sprayed Moët & Chandon after winning, accidentally creating what would become an F1 podium staple for decades.

📅 1966-1999 – Moët & Chandon became F1’s first official champagne, gracing podiums for over 30 years before being replaced by G.H. Mumm.

📅 2020 – The brand briefly returned for a one-year stint before Ferrari Trento took over in 2021.

Now, Formula 1 is reviving this long-standing partnership, reuniting with one of the most prestigious names in luxury and motorsport history.

Domenicali: “A Perfect Union of Performance and Refinement”

F1’s CEO Stefano Domenicali hailed the move as a celebration of both tradition and innovation, marking Formula 1’s 75th anniversary season.

📢 Domenicali’s Statement:

“The tradition of toasting on the podium is one of the most iconic moments in our sport, and we are thrilled to welcome once again Moët & Chandon as the Official Champagne of Formula 1.

This partnership celebrates the history, emotion, and excellence that bind Formula 1 and Moët & Chandon, in a perfect union of performance and refinement in a truly special year that sees us celebrate our 75th anniversary.”

How Does This Impact the LVMH & F1 Partnership?

Moët & Chandon’s return also strengthens F1’s collaboration with LVMH, the global luxury goods conglomerate. With LVMH expanding its motorsport partnerships, expect even deeper ties between the worlds of F1 and luxury brands.

🌟 Recent LVMH Moves in F1:

  • 2023 – LVMH brands begin major partnerships with F1 teams & events
  • TAG Heuer, Hublot, and Moët Hennessy expand sponsorship deals
  • 2025 – Moët & Chandon returns, aligning F1’s image with prestige and heritage

What Fans Can Expect in 2025

🏆 Back to Classic Podium Celebrations – The return of Moët & Chandon bottles on the podium will be a nostalgic throwback for long-time F1 fans.

🎉 Exclusive Trackside Experiences – LVMH and Moët could bring VIP champagne lounges to Grand Prix weekends.

📺 More Premium Branding – Expect Moët & Chandon’s branding to be featured prominently at circuits, including new hospitality packages.

A Toast to the Future of F1 🍾🏎️

With Formula 1 entering a new era of global expansion, luxury partnerships, and record-breaking audiences, Moët & Chandon’s return is more than just a sponsorship deal—it’s a statement of tradition, exclusivity, and prestige.

F1 podiums are about to get a little more bubbly in 2025, and fans can once again raise a glass to the champions—the Moët way. 🥂✨
