The Italian company Caselani, specialized in building bodywork, is known for transforming Citroën models, which in their hands almost always acquire a retro touch.
This time, the Italian company decided to give a different look to the Ami, having created an aesthetic kit for the small quadricycle of the French brand, which features a completely new bodywork.
The project developed by Caselani in collaboration with the Citroën Style Center is named Type-Ami, and it connects with the classic Citroën Type H through fiberglass body panels that mimic corrugated metal, as well as through the headlights that stand out from the body and the application of a generously sized double chevron and new steel wheels.
Despite this more retro transformation of the Type-Ami, envisioned by the well-known designer David Obendorfer, who has a history of reimagining classic Citroëns, the truth is that this retro Ami maintains the weight of the original model, 471 kg, so the performance level of the small quadricycle should not be affected.
Remember that, like the Ami, this Type-Ami is also equipped with an electric motor that delivers a power of 8.2 hp, powered by a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, allowing for a maximum speed limited to 45 km/h.
The Type-Ami is being presented to the public at the Rétromobile in Paris, which kicks off this Wednesday, and it is already known that the price of this retro Ami model starts at €13,000. However, for those who own a Citroën Ami, the conversion to Type-Ami costs around €5,000.
