August 15, 2021. FIA World Endurance Championship, Le Mans Test Day, Le Mans, France, Sunday.

The Automobile Club d’Ouest has released the preliminary lineup for the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will see 23 Hypercars and a total of 62 vehicles participate in the 91st edition of the race.

The 19 Hypercars competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, including Le Mans, are all present. Additionally, there will be four additional cars, two of which are from Cadillac – one from Action Express and one from Chip Ganassi – bringing the total number of Cadillacs at Le Mans to three.

There will also be an extra factory-operated Porsche and Lamborghini joining the WEC lineup. These cars typically compete in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

The current driver listed for the Porsche is Mathieu Jaminet, while the Lamborghini will have the regular IMSA drivers – Romain Grosjean, Andrea Caldarelli, and Matteo Cairoli.

The Cadillacs, on the other hand, will have Sebastien Bourdais, Renger van der Zande, and Scott Dixon in the #03 Chip Ganassi entry, and Pipo Derani and Jack Aitken in the #311 Action Express car.

Furthermore, Chip Ganassi has confirmed that IndyCar champion Alex Palou will join the regular WEC entry, alongside Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn.

In the LMP2 category, there will be 16 entries, all Oreca 07-Gibsons, consisting of cars from IMSA, the Asian Le Mans Series, and the European Le Mans Series. United Autosports, Algarve Pro Racing, and COOL Racing will each have two cars, while Proton Coompetition, Vector Sport, AO by TF, Nielsen Racing, IDEC Sport, Duqueine, DKR Engineering, Inter Europol, Panis Racing, and AF Corse will each have one entry. Out of the 16 entries, six will compete in the pro/am subclass.

Lastly, LMGT3 will feature 23 entries, five more than the regular WEC lineup. Joining the lineup are three Ferraris, from GR Racing, Spirit of Race, and JMW Motorsport, an additional Ford Mustang from Proton Competition, and a McLaren 720S GT3 Evo from Inception Racing, which comes from IMSA.

Finally, the reserve list includes seven entries. Proton Competition has applied to enter a second Porsche 963 Hypercar, while Inter Europol has listed a second Oreca in LMP2. Also on the reserve list in LMP2 is Richard Mille by TDS and Staysail Motorsport. In LMGT3, Kessel Racing and Formula Racing have two Ferraris, while Racing Spirit of Leman has listed an Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3.

The 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on June 15-16.
