Former Formula 1 driver believes investigation by Christian Horner is harmful to Red Bull.

Former Formula 1 driver believes investigation by Christian Horner is harmful to Red Bull.

Formula E driver Sam Bird believes that the ongoing inquiry into Christian Horner’s inappropriate conduct could have a detrimental impact on the reputation of Red Bull. The head of the Red Bull team is currently facing allegations of misconduct, which he has denied. Despite the accusations, Horner will continue to fulfill his duties at Milton Keynes until a verdict is reached. However, former Mercedes test driver Sam Bird has expressed concern about the potential consequences of the investigation.

Bird suggests that the examination of Horner’s behavior could have significant repercussions for the staff at Milton Keynes and the team’s sponsors. He believes that this case may even discourage potential sponsors from associating with Red Bull, despite the team’s recent achievements. Horner, on the other hand, has stated that it is business as usual at Red Bull.

Additionally, Bird argues that the inquiry will harm Red Bull’s image. Accusing such a prominent figure within the team of a serious offense could lead to a public relations catastrophe. Bird describes the situation as “astonishing” for Milton Keynes. Recently, Max Verstappen’s public relations team imposed restrictions on questions about Horner during a press conference.

The allegations against Horner involve claims of sexually inappropriate behavior. It has been reported that he offered to settle the case for $800,000, but the female employee involved rejected the offer and intends to pursue legal action in English courts.

Currently, Horner remains in his position as the head of the Red Bull team, thanks to support from majority shareholder Chalerm Yoovidhya. However, if he is found guilty of the charges against him, this situation could change rapidly. Horner is expected to attend pre-season testing in Bahrain, although Red Bull GmbH is eager to expedite the resolution of the case.

Horner finds himself in a challenging position due to the recent allegations. He has lost favor with influential individuals in the paddock, including Max Verstappen’s father, Jos Verstappen. Nevertheless, Horner maintains his innocence. It will be interesting to observe the progress of the investigation in the days ahead.
