This is not the first time that Elon Musk’s brand, Tesla, has pointed to the strategy of launching a model on the market at an affordable price, lower than the Model 3.
However, the initial idea of a Model 2 was abandoned, with the American electric vehicle brand announcing at the time that it would continue to work on launching a more affordable model.
Now, in the presentation of the 2024 results, Tesla has revisited the topic, confirming the arrival of more economical models in the first half of 2025.
“Plans for new vehicles, including more affordable models, are still on track for production to begin in the first half of 2025. These vehicles will utilize features from the next-generation platform, as well as from our current platforms, and will be produced on the same manufacturing lines as the current vehicle lineup”, Tesla revealed in a statement.
Despite reinforcing the intention to launch more affordable models, the truth is that, so far, Elon Musk’s brand has revealed few details about the new model or models that it is supposedly preparing to bring to production in the coming months.
What little is known is that the new models may be more sophisticated than the Model 3 or Model Y. The latest investor report mentions a complete list of features from the Cybertruck that will be used in “vehicles of the future,” including electronic steering and 800 V architecture, among others. It remains to be seen whether Tesla’s promise will be fulfilled in the near future.
