Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is entering the 2025 season with one mission—get back to victory lane. After a disappointing 2024 campaign, Busch and Richard Childress Racing (RCR) are banking on major team adjustments to turn things around.

But can Busch recapture the form that made him one of the sport’s most dominant drivers?

A Frustrating 2024 Season—What Went Wrong?

Expectations were sky-high for Busch and RCR heading into 2024 after an impressive debut season together in 2023. However, the No. 8 Chevrolet team struggled to consistently field a race-winning car. And even when they did, Busch’s own mistakes proved costly.

Now, with a revamped crew and renewed focus, the 40-year-old veteran is determined to bounce back.

“It’s always nice when you look toward a new year and you have an opportunity to have a few new people around you,” Busch said. “Working around the shop and getting that chemistry is something you need for a successful season.”

Busch isn’t sugarcoating last season’s struggles.

“Last year, I don’t think we met the expectations that we all wanted,” he admitted. “Our first season with RCR, we were successful, but unfortunately last year, we didn’t hit our goals. We want to turn things around and get back to our winning ways this year.”

Bowman Gray: A Wild Card Start to 2025

Before the official points-paying races begin, Busch will get his first taste of the newly added Bowman Gray Stadium for the Cook Out Clash on February 2nd.

“I’ve walked around the track, but I’ve never been there for a race,” Busch revealed. “I’ve never watched competition on the track. But I’ve seen plenty of highlight reels on YouTube.”

He’s also leaning on NASCAR Modified Tour legend Burt Myers for insight into the tight, rough-and-tumble short track.

“I’m a close friend of Burt Myers, so I’ll lean on him a bit. I know he’s racing as well, so it’ll be fun to race against him and see how things shake up.”

With no prior experience at Bowman Gray, Busch knows the event could be a chaotic start to the season, but he’s eager to adapt.

Can Kyle Busch Make a Comeback in 2025?

With new personnel, renewed focus, and a burning desire to return to form, Busch has all the ingredients for a comeback year.

But with competition fiercer than ever—and teams like Hendrick, Trackhouse, and Joe Gibbs Racing stepping up—can RCR give Busch the equipment he needs to fight for wins again?

One thing is clear—Kyle Busch isn’t settling for mediocrity.

The road to redemption begins now.
