Renovado BMW iX com autonomia até 700 km

BMW has decided to update the iX, marking the first “facelift” since the fully electric SUV was launched in 2022. The refreshed model now boasts more power and efficiency, as well as an enhanced style and a new entry model.

As a result, the entry into the iX range is now the e xDrive45, which sits below the xDrive60 and M70 xDrive, replacing the xDrive50 and M60 versions.

All versions are equipped with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, with the entry-level xDrive45 presenting 408 hp and promising to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

The xDrive60 is tuned to 544 hp, which is an increase of 20 hp compared to the xDrive50 it replaces, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. These two versions have an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h.

On its part, the top-of-the-line M70 xDrive variant boasts reference performance, presenting a power output of 659 hp in My Mode Sport and a maximum torque of 1,100 Nm, which is available when Launch Control is activated.

The new BMW iX M70 xDrive accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds; however, using the “1-foot rollout,” the time required to reach 100 km/h is 3.5 seconds. Additionally, this BMW iX M70 xDrive claims a top speed of 250 km/h.

In terms of range, the BMW iX promises to be a benchmark among 100% electric premium models, equipped with new battery cell technology that increases the energy content of the high-voltage battery of the BMW iX xDrive45 by about 30% to 94.8 kWh.

The high-voltage batteries of the other variants of the model provide a usable energy content of 109.1 kWh (BMW iX xDrive60) and 108.9 kWh (BMW iX M70 xDrive).

Thus, the xDrive45 announces a range of up to 602 km (WLTP), while the new xDrive60 is the first electric BMW to promise more than 700 km of range, about 50 km more than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the top version, the M70 xDrive, promises around 600 km of range.

In terms of design, the differences start on the outside, with a focus on the front panel, which replaces the traditional grille and features illuminated contours, while the headlight clusters showcase a new lighting signature with four vertical light points.

The M70 xDrive variant is equipped with its own grille, as well as black mirror caps and exclusive 22-inch wheels. Additionally, this version of the iX features Shadowline darkened headlights and taillights.

Inside, the iX retains the curved screen that debuted in this model and has since been applied to most of the German brand’s models, but now gains new functions such as gaming and video streaming. The optional M Sport package adds new Multi-Function seats made of microfiber/Sensatec in gray and black with M stitching, natural Amido leather or natural Castanea leather, which provide more support, as well as active ventilation and additional adjustment levels.

BMW has already announced that production of the revamped iX will begin in March at the Dingolfing factory in Germany, and that the first deliveries will take place in the second quarter.
